| Obverse description | Lilac-tinted certificate with ornate guilloche border. The Ashoka Lion Capital emblem appears at upper centre flanked by denomination numerals '100' at each corner. The main body carries printed contract text in English, with spaces for holder names, post office, date of issue, and register number, with a circular postmaster's date-stamp at lower centre. |

The Government of India undertake to pay EITHER of them, or to the survivor of them, or the legal representatives of the survivor in the case of death of both of them, on presentation of this Certificate at the aforesaid Post Office on XXXXXXXXX Rs. /-or at any earlier date after the expiry of eighteen months the sum not exceeding Rs. /- specified on the reverse of this Certificate as due on such date.
