| Obverse description | The obverse features the Lion Capital of Ashoka, the national emblem of India, prominently displayed in the center of the field, depicting three lions atop an abacus adorned with the Dharma Chakra. Immediately below the emblem appears the national motto in Devanagari script, सत्यमेव जयते (Satyameva Jayate, meaning 'Truth Alone Triumphs'). The denomination '100' is boldly rendered in large numerals at the lower center. The legend 'INDIA' arcs along the upper right periphery in Latin script, while the Devanagari equivalent 'भारत' and the word 'रुपया' arc along the upper left and lower left respectively, with '100 RUPEES' completing the legend along the right rim. |
