Reverse description Central device depicts a highly detailed relief of Mount Everest (Sagarmatha), its snow-covered peak and rocky ridges rendered with naturalistic texture against a polished field. A Devanagari legend arcs across the upper portion of the inner field, while the denomination in both Devanagari script and Latin numerals (RS 100) appears below the mountain. The English inscription 'ASCENT OF MT. EVEREST 1953-83' curves along the lower portion of the dark annular band surrounding the central design, commemorating the Silver Jubilee of the first ascent. The coin is framed by a beaded inner border and a raised outer rim with a continuous dotted pattern.
