Reverse description The central mirror field presents an elaborate historical composition commemorating the People's Volunteer Corps of 1612. In the foreground, Prince Dmitry Pozharsky is depicted mounted on horseback, sabre in hand, while Kozma Minin stands to his left bearing an icon; above them the banner of the People's Volunteer Corps is unfurled. The inscription «НАРОДНОЕ ОПОЛЧЕНИЕ» (PEOPLE'S VOLUNTEER CORPS) appears in two lines of stylised cursive lettering in the lower left. In the middle ground, two rows of armed foot soldiers and cavalry are shown on the march, with the towers and walls of the Moscow Kremlin rising behind them; on the date «1612» appears on the lower portion of the right decorative segment.
