Obverse description At centre of the deeply mirrored field stands the Russian Federation's double-headed eagle, wings displayed, rendered in high relief with finely engraved feather detail. The denomination СТО РУБЛЕЙ (One Hundred Roubles) arcs across the upper field in large Cyrillic capitals. A beaded inner circle frames the eagle, with the legend БАНК РОССИИ (Bank of Russia) inscribed below it along the lower arc. The date 2007 Г. appears prominently at the bottom, flanked by the alloy designation Аg 925 to the left and the weight indication 1 КГ to the right. The Saint Petersburg Mint monogram (СПМД) is positioned at the lower right, within the beaded border.

Reverse description The reverse presents an elaborate cartographic panorama of the polar regions rendered across a stylised polar projection map, with meridian and parallel lines radiating from a central compass rose occupying the middle of the field. Surrounding the compass rose, numerous vignettes in varying relief depict the diversity of Arctic activity and resources: a jet aircraft and helicopters in flight, offshore oil platforms in open water, a reindeer sledge with a driver traversing a snow-covered landscape, scientists releasing a meteorological balloon, polar bears, reindeer herds, coniferous forests, industrial facilities labelled with chemical symbols Au, Cu, Ni, and Pt denoting mineral wealth, and an icebreaker vessel navigating Arctic seas. A dotted line traces the Arctic Circle across the composition. The legend МЕЖДУНАРОДНЫЙ ПОЛЯРНЫЙ ГОД (International Polar Year) is inscribed in bold Cyrillic capitals along the lower arc of the field.
