Obverse description At centre, the Bank of Russia's official emblem — a double-headed eagle with wings lowered — is set within a beaded circle. The semicircular legend «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA) appears immediately below the eagle. Along the outer rim, the denomination «СТО РУБЛЕЙ» (ONE HUNDRED ROUBLES) arcs across the top, and the year of issue «2005» appears at the bottom. To the left of the central device, the metal purity designation and alloy fineness are inscribed; to the right, the fine metal content in kilograms and the Saint Petersburg Mint monogram (СПМД) are indicated.
