Obverse description At centre, a high-relief rendition of the State Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation: a double-headed eagle with raised, spread wings, each head surmounted by a small crown and both crowned above by a larger crown connected by a ribbon; the eagle grasps a sceptre in its right talon and an orb in its left, while on its breast a shield bears the image of a mounted knight in a cloak slaying a prostrate dragon trampled beneath the horse's hooves. A curved legend reading РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ (THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION) arcs along the upper rim, flanked on each side by a decorative double-rhombus ornament. In the lower field, to the left of the eagle, the fineness designation Ag 925 appears, and to the right the fine metal weight 1 КГ and the Saint Petersburg Mint privy mark СПМД; along the bottom edge, the horizontal inscription БАНК РОССИИ 100 РУБЛЕЙ (BANK OF RUSSIA 100 ROUBLES) is inscribed, with the date 2014 г. directly below.
