Obverse description Central device features the Russian State emblem, a double-headed eagle with wings displayed, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The eagle is depicted without crowns, as used during the transitional period of Russian coinage. A beaded inner circle frames the central device, with the denomination '100 РУБЛЕЙ' and year '1997' inscribed along the upper arc in Cyrillic characters. The issuer inscription 'БАНК РОССИИ' (Bank of Russia) appears in bold Cyrillic lettering along the lower arc. Silver fineness 'Ag 900' and weight '1кг' are noted in the lower field, flanking the Moscow Mint monogram 'ММД'.
