| Obverse description | The obverse carries a central heraldic vignette with the Imperial double-headed eagle seal at the top, flanked by fasces as part of the compositional device. Manuscript signatures of General Nikolai Yudenich and S.G. Lianozov appear on the face, conferring direct command authority of the Northwest Front. Denomination text and issuing authority inscriptions in Cyrillic script complete the design. |

Nikolai Yudenich's Northwest Army came within artillery range of Petrograd in October 1919 before being driven back by Red Army counterattacks and collapsing entirely by year's end. This note was issued by the Field Treasury he established to pay his troops and supply chain — a fiscal apparatus that functioned for only a matter of months. Lianozov, who headed the short-lived Northwest Russian Government recognized briefly by Estonia, countersigned as the civilian authority Yudenich nominally answered to, though the two men's relationship was fractious throughout.
The government dissolved in December 1919. Most of these notes never completed a second transaction.
