Comments

The RSFSR's 1919 100 Rouble issue belongs to the most chaotic period of Soviet monetary history, when the Bolshevik government was printing money at a pace that bore no relation to any underlying reserve. Between 1919 and 1921, the total currency in circulation expanded by a factor of roughly fifty, reducing earlier notes to near-worthlessness almost from the moment of issue.

Pick 101 was produced under conditions of severe material shortage — paper quality is frequently inconsistent across surviving examples, a direct consequence of wartime disruption to supply chains rather than anything in the manufacturing specification.
