| Obverse description | At left, an oval vignette contains a portrait of Empress Catherine the Great in three-quarter view, dressed in imperial regalia with crown and ermine-trimmed robe, enclosed within a circular Cyrillic cartouche. To the right, the heading ГОСУДАРСТВЕННЫЙ КРЕДИТНЫЙ БИЛЕТЪ is set in letterpress above the large bold denomination СТО РУБЛЕЙ, with redemption text for gold exchange and the date 1898 at lower right. Two manuscript signatures of the cashier and director appear at the foot of the note, with the serial number printed twice along the lower margin. |
