Obverse description Green and multicolour note with a portrait of Reza Shah Pahlavi in military uniform at right, set against an elaborate guilloche underprint in pink and green. A central vignette within an arched frame presents a landscape with Mount Damavand. The upper field carries the bank name in Persian script and the denomination in large Arabic numerals, with zero-zero serial numbers and the overprint SPECIMEN at left.

Reverse description Printed in green on a light ground, the reverse centres on an intaglio vignette of a ruined fortress or historic castle amid gardens. At upper centre, the bank name BANQUE MELLIÉ IRAN appears in bold letterpress, flanked by the denomination 100 RIALS in each corner. The imperial lion-and-sun emblem of Iran is rendered within a rectangular panel at left, and a security warning legend in French is printed along the lower margin. The perforated word SPECIMEN is visible at centre right.
