| Reverse description | The Imperial arms of Brazil occupy the central field, depicting a crowned escutcheon bearing the armillary sphere encircled by a ring of nineteen stars representing the provinces of the Empire. The shield is surmounted by the Imperial crown with a cross finial, rendered in precise engraved detail. To the left of the shield appears the denomination '100 Rs.' and to the right the date '1865', both inscribed vertically in the field. A raised beaded border frames the entire design. The composition is bold and heraldic in character, consistent with the pattern coinage of the Second Brazilian Empire. |
