| Obverse description | Central field occupied by the tughra (royal monogram) of Sultan Hussein Kamel rendered in elaborate Ottoman calligraphic style, enclosed within a decorative wreath of palm fronds tied at the base with a floral ornament. The Hijri accession year 1333 appears in Eastern Arabic numerals below the tughra. The engraver's initials 'J.H.' are visible at the lower edge of the tughra. A fine beaded border encircles the entire design. |
