| Reverse description | Central field displays a symbolic motif associated with the International Year of Disabled Persons, comprising a stylized figure with a microscope or technical instrument framed within a laurel wreath. To the left of the wreath, the denomination is inscribed in Latin as 100 / ONE HUNDRED / POUNDS in three lines, while to the right the Arabic equivalent appears. The legend in Arabic script curves along the upper rim, reading the full state title. The inscription D.R. OF SUDAN appears prominently in the lower field in Latin capitals. |

| Additional information |
The International Year of Disabled Persons, designated by the UN for 1981, prompted a wave of commemorative issues from member states — Sudan among them. The piedfort format, struck at double the standard planchet thickness, was rarely used by the Bank of Sudan and makes this among the more technically unusual pieces in their commemorative program. Pieforts of this era were produced almost exclusively for collectors and diplomatic presentation, with mintages typically in the low hundreds.
