Additional information

The White Horse of Hanover was one of ten Queen's Beasts chosen for the series, drawn from the heraldic supporters that lined the avenue at Elizabeth II's 1953 coronation at Westminster Abbey. The horse traces its lineage to the Hanoverian succession of 1714, when George I arrived from Germany and brought with it a dynastic emblem that had no prior root in English heraldry.

This is the penultimate issue in the Queen's Beasts program, which concluded with the Yale of Beaufort in 2021.
