| Reverse description | A lone World War I soldier in full kit stands upright amid a devastated battlefield landscape of broken, bare trees and tangled barbed wire, rendered in polished gold relief against a blackened mirror field. A horizontal reflective band bisects the design, in which the soldier's mirror image transforms into a kneeling figure in a posture of prayer or mourning, evoking the contrast between the living and the fallen. A stylised poppy appears in the lower field beneath the reflection.
