Obverse lettering ELIZABETH II·D·G·REG·F·D·100 POUNDS· J.C
(Translation: Elizabeth the Second by the Grace of God Queen Defender of the Faith)
Reverse description The reverse presents a bold, close-up bust portrait of Britannia facing left, helmeted and armoured, holding a trident over her right shoulder, with a Union Jack-decorated shield visible to her lower left and a sailing ship rendered in low relief in the mid-ground to the right. The design, engraved by Antony Dufort, fills the field dramatically with a strong chiaroscuro effect achieved through contrasting relief and mirror-polished surfaces. The legend BRITANNIA appears vertically along the right field, while the inscription 1 OZ FINE GOLD 999.9 2015 arcs across the upper left of the field. The engraver's initials A.D. appear in the lower right field.
