| Obverse description | Uncrowned effigy of King Charles III facing left, modelled by engraver Martin Jennings, occupying the central field with finely detailed facial features and bare neck truncation. The surrounding legend reads CHARLES III·D·G·REX·F·D·100 POUNDS·2023, disposed continuously around the periphery in raised Latin lettering with dot separators. The engraver's initials MJ appear in small raised letters at the lower right of the portrait truncation. The overall style is a high-relief proof portrait consistent with Royal Mint coinage of the reign. |
