Issued to commemorate Claudio Teehankee Sr., who served as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines from 1988 to 1991 after spending years as a political prisoner under the Marcos dictatorship. He was arrested in 1970 and held without formal charge for much of the martial law period, making his eventual elevation to the Court's highest seat one of the more pointed reversals in Philippine judicial history.
