| Obverse description | The Mexican national arms occupies the central gold field, depicting the heraldic eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus growing from a rocky islet, grasping a serpent in its beak and talons. The design is rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field, with the eagle executed in the gold centre and the encircling laurel and oak garland in the silver ring.
