Uruguay has long contracted foreign state mints for its banknote production, and the Casa de Moneda de Chile has been a recurring supplier across multiple Uruguayan series. This particular issue spans a five-year window during which the BCU maintained a relatively stable monetary environment — the 100 Peso Uruguayo denomination sitting comfortably in everyday transactional use rather than the marginal zones where notes either see almost no circulation or are destroyed quickly through overuse.
Pick 95 carries the full suite of mid-tier security features expected of a note at this denomination level by the 2010s. The optically variable ink and latent image combination is consistent with Chilean mint output of the period.
