Obverse description The Cuban national coat of arms, depicting a shield quartered with a key between two rocky promontories, a rising sun over a seascape, and a royal palm tree, is superimposed at centre upon a large five-pointed star. The arms are flanked on either side by a wreath of laurel and oak branches tied at the base. The legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper periphery, with BANCO NACIONAL DE CUBA inscribed in a secondary arc below it. The denomination 100 PESOS appears in large characters across the lower field.
