Obverse description Bimetallic coin with a sterling silver centre displaying the Mexican national arms in high relief: an eagle displayed facing left, perched upon a prickly pear cactus growing from a rocky outcrop, devouring a serpent gripped in its beak and talons. The design is rendered in fine detail with boldly feathered wings spread upward. The aluminium bronze ring carries the national legend in raised capital letters along the upper arc, flanked at the lower border by a tied laurel and oak garland.
