Obverse description The silver centre features the Mexican national coat of arms in high relief: a golden eagle perched upon a prickly pear cactus growing from a rocky outcrop, devouring a serpent grasped in its beak and right talon, with wings displayed. The device is framed by an oak branch to the left and a laurel branch to the right, tied at the base with a ribbon. The legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS curves along the upper periphery of the aluminium bronze ring.
