| Obverse description | The silver centre features the Mexican national coat of arms, depicting a Mexican golden eagle perched upon a prickly pear cactus growing from a rocky outcrop, devouring a serpent in its beak and talons, rendered in high relief. The design is presented in the traditional heraldic style found on Mexican coinage. The aluminium bronze outer ring bears the curved legend 'ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS' along the upper arc, while an ornamental wreath of oak and laurel branches, tied with a ribbon at the base, frames the lower portion of the ring. |
