Reverse description The reverse features a left-facing bust of Venustiano Carranza, the Mexican revolutionary statesman and former President, rendered in high relief with characteristic full beard and pince-nez spectacles. The name V. CARRANZA appears as a legend along the lower portion of the field. To the right of the portrait, the denomination $100 is shown in large numerals with a peso sign, and the date 1989 is inscribed below. The mintmark Mo appears to the left of the bust near the inner border. A cluster of Braille dots is incused in the upper field above the portrait, and the design is contained within a raised beaded border.
