| Reverse description | The central design features a black-and-white soccer ball superimposed over the right half of a stylized globe, evoking the 1986 FIFA World Cup held in Mexico. The denomination $100 appears prominently within the composition, with the legend COPA MUNDIAL DE FUTBOL arcing along the upper portion of the field. The mint mark Mo is positioned at the lower left, while the official FIFA World Cup Mexico 86 logo and the date 1986 appear at the lower portion of the design. The field is finished to a proof standard with frosted devices contrasting against a mirror-like background. |

Issued to commemorate the 1986 FIFA World Cup held in Mexico — a tournament the country hosted on short notice after Colombia withdrew in 1983 citing financial constraints. Mexico became the first nation to host the World Cup twice.
KM#524 was struck in proof and uncirculated finishes, with mintage figures kept modest enough that secondary market premiums have held reasonably well against the spot value of the silver content.
