Obverse description The silver centre features the Mexican national coat of arms, depicting an eagle perched on a cactus and devouring a serpent, rendered in high relief against a plain field. Decorative laurel and oak branches flank the base of the central device, tied with a ribbon at the bottom. The legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS arcs along the upper periphery of the aluminium bronze outer ring in raised Latin letters. The overall design follows the standard national arms composition used on contemporary Mexican coinage.
