Obverse description The Cuban coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield surmounted by the Phrygian cap and flanked by oak and laurel branches. The legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs above along the upper rim. The denomination 100 PESOS appears in the lower exergue, while the weight indication 1 OZ and fineness AU 0.999 are inscribed to either side of the arms.

Reverse description The reverse depicts three-quarter-length portraits of José Martí, Máximo Gómez, and Antonio Maceo, all facing right in a composed group composition evoking the leaders of the 1895 independence campaign. A sword appears at the right side of the design, serving as a symbolic martial element. The commemorative legend GUERRA NECESARIA and the date 24 DE FEBRERO arc across the upper and lower fields respectively, with the centennial span 1895-1995 inscribed below the figures.
