| Obverse description | The Cuban national coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a shield divided into three quarters: the upper section depicts a rising sun over a key between two promontories, the lower left quarter displays alternating blue and white stripes representing the original departments of Cuba, and the lower right quarter bears a royal palm tree. The shield is surmounted by a Phrygian cap on a pike and flanked by two laurel and oak branches tied at the base.
