| Obverse description | The centre of the bimetallic coin features the Mexican national coat of arms struck in .925 silver, depicting a Mexican golden eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus growing from a rock in a lake, devouring a serpent. The eagle is rendered in fine relief with detailed feathering and outstretched wings. The aluminium bronze outer ring bears the national legend 'ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS' curving along the upper arc in raised Latin lettering. The lower portion of the ring is adorned with a wreath of oak and laurel branches tied at the base with a ribbon. |
