| Obverse description | At left, an intaglio-engraved allegorical vignette of a seated classical female figure holding a scroll and resting her arm upon a terrestrial globe, set within a dark guilloche border. The bank title 'El Banco Español Filipino' is rendered in ornate script across the upper centre, above the denomination tablet 'CIEN PESOS' framed in scrollwork, with the legend 'PAGARÁ AL PORTADOR' below.
