Obverse description The Colombian national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a condor with outstretched wings perched atop a shield divided into three sections, flanked by laurel and palm branches. The shield bears the Phrygian cap above a pomegranate flanked by cornucopias, with horizontal wavy lines in the base representing the oceans. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE COLOMBIA arcs around the upper periphery, with the date appearing at the bottom of the field below the arms. The rim is bordered by a continuous row of small beads.
