Obverse description Black and blue intaglio print over a violet-blue guilloche underprint with red serial numbers. At left, a conjoined portrait bust of the Catholic Monarchs Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabella I of Castile facing right. The central and corner fields carry the composite Coat of Arms of the Spanish States, with the crowned royal eagle above the central shield, and yoke-and-arrows devices flanking it. Elaborate floral and geometric ornamental borders frame the design throughout.

Reverse description Printed in ocher and brown tones, the reverse presents an allegorical vignette of a laurel-wreathed seated woman holding ears of wheat, accompanied by a boy bearing a caduceus and seated upon a barrel, with a rooster and fruits at his feet and factory buildings receding into the background. Along the lower border, an anchor, cogwheel, corn, and agricultural implements form a symbolic frieze of industry and agriculture.
