At left, a conjoined portrait bust of the Catholic Monarchs Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabella I of Castile facing right. The central and corner fields carry the composite Coat of Arms of the Spanish States, with the crowned royal eagle above the central shield, and yoke-and-arrows devices flanking it.
