| Additional information |
Macau's lunar series silver issues of this period were struck under the authority of the Monetary and Foreign Exchange Authority of Macau (AMCM) during the final years of Portuguese administration — the handover to China came in December 1999. This 1998 Tiger issue appeared just eighteen months before that transition, making the entire late-series run a footnote in the territory's monetary history rather than a continuation of anything.
KM#88 is frequently confused in dealer listings with the gold 500 Patacas Tiger of the same year.
