Obverse description At center, a stylized profile effigy of a seated rabbit facing right, rendered in polished relief against a colorized background depicting blooming plum blossom branches on a purple and burgundy field occupying the right half of the coin. The denomination '100圓 / PATACAS' and the cyclical year inscription '辛卯年' appear to the left of the rabbit, with the date '2011' below. The legend 'MACAU, CHINA' is inscribed along the lower rim, while the Chinese characters '中國澳門' are placed along the upper rim. The overall design combines fine engraving with selective color application in a distinctly East Asian decorative style.

Additional information

The Macau Monetary Authority has issued lunar new year commemoratives in large-format silver since the 1980s, but the 2011 rabbit issue belongs to the second full cycle of the series — the first cycle having begun in 1984. Mintages for these pieces are tightly controlled and predominantly absorbed by the Hong Kong and mainland Chinese collector market, where rabbit years carry particular cultural weight tied to notions of calm and longevity.

At 155.52 grams, the specification matches the five-troy-ounce standard used across the later issues in this series.
