Obverse description Central field features a finely detailed high-relief depiction of the façade of the Ruins of St. Paul's (São Paulo), Macao's most iconic landmark, rendered with exceptional architectural precision. The baroque stonework, niches, and decorative elements of the ruined cathedral front are clearly delineated against a deeply mirrored proof field. Eight six-pointed stars are arranged in a semicircle to either side of the central motif, evoking the imagery associated with Macao's coat of arms. The legend 'MACAU' arcs across the upper field in bold Latin capitals, while the date '1999' appears in large numerals along the lower field. The entire design is bordered by a continuous beaded inner rim.

Reverse description The central device presents a highly naturalistic, finely engraved representation of a rabbit seated facing left, rendered in high relief with meticulous detail to the fur texture, whiskers, and musculature, commemorating the Chinese Zodiac Year of the Rabbit. The Chinese characters '壹佰' (one hundred) appear vertically to the lower left of the rabbit, and '澳門' (Macao) to the upper right. The numeral '100' is inscribed below the rabbit, with the denomination legend 'PATACAS' arcing along the lower field in bold Latin capitals. The design is contained within a beaded inner border consistent with the obverse.
