| Obverse description | A detailed high-relief depiction of the façade of the Ruins of St. Paul's Cathedral, Macau's most iconic landmark, occupies the centre of the field. The Baroque-style stone façade is rendered with fine architectural detail, including arches, columns, niches, and decorative stonework across multiple tiers. The legend MACAU arcs prominently along the upper periphery in large spaced letters, flanked on each side by a ring of five-pointed stars. The date 1994 appears in the lower field beneath the cathedral ruins. |

Banco Nacional Ultramarino issued this piece during its final years as Macau's note-issuing authority — the bank lost that role in 1995 when the Autoridade Monetária de Macau took over currency functions, making 1994 among the last years BNU-branded commemoratives carried any institutional weight beyond the numismatic market.
