| Obverse description | Printed in red on a cream ground, the obverse is dominated by a central guilloche underprint bearing the large Chinese character denomination 壹百圓 flanked by intricate lathe-work borders. To the upper left, the Portuguese royal arms appears within an ornate vignette, while to the right a detailed intaglio rendering of a traditional Chinese gateway (pai-lou) is set against a fine engine-turned background. The date line 'LISBOA, 16 de Novembro de 1945' and the decree number 'DECRETO N.º 17154' are inscribed centrally, with the bilingual denomination 'CEM PATACAS' in large letterpress below, and signature lines for the Administrator and the President of the Administrative Council at the foot. |
