| Obverse description | Multicolour intaglio printing on the base design of the 5000 Francs note (P#29), with two black overprints reading SAINT-PIERRE-ET-MIQUELON and a red overprint reading CONTRE-VALEUR DE 100 NOUVEAUX FRANCS placed at the watermark position. The central vignette presents a pensive bust of Victor Schoelcher, French abolitionist and journalist, set against a vignette of sea and mountain landscape, with the parchment of the abolition of slavery held in his hand. Numbering and the single signature of the Managing Director A. Postel-Vinay are printed in black, with the value 5000 rendered in dark blue numerals and the general wording in brown-purple. |
