Obverse description Central field features the royal emblem of Bhutan — an intricate circular device depicting two crossed vajras (thunderbolts) surmounted by a jewel, flanked by two dragons and surrounded by a lotus wreath — rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The legend KINGDOM OF BHUTAN arcs along the upper periphery in Latin characters, while Dzongkha script appears along the lower periphery. The date 2010 is inscribed in the field to either side of the central emblem.
