| Reverse description | A forward-facing portrait bust of His Majesty King Jigme Singye Wangchuck is rendered in high relief at centre, depicted in youthful effigy wearing traditional Bhutanese dress with a characteristic folded collar. The denomination Nu. 100 appears to the right of the portrait within the inner field. The peripheral legend 25TH CORONATION ANNIVERSARY OF HIS MAJESTY JIGME SINGYE WANGCHUCK encircles the design, with the dates 1974 and 1999 separated by a star ornament along the lower margin. |

| Additional information |
Bhutan's Royal Monetary Authority issued this coin during the reign of Jigme Singye Wangchuck, the fourth Druk Gyalpo, who had ascended the throne in 1972 at age sixteen following his father's sudden death. By 1999, Bhutan was navigating a carefully managed modernization — the country had only introduced television and the internet that same year, both legalized simultaneously in a single royal decree.
