Obverse description Central field features a finely detailed high-relief depiction of an ox walking leftward, its head lowered, rendered with naturalistic musculature and texture against a mirror-polished proof field. Small tufts of grass appear beneath the animal's hooves, enhancing the pastoral composition. The legend 中華民國九十八年 (Republic of China Year 98) arcs along the upper periphery in Chinese characters. The cyclical year designation 己丑 (ji-chou, the Year of the Ox) appears at the right field, while the issuing authority 中央銀行 (Central Bank) is inscribed along the lower periphery.
