| Obverse description | Printed on silk with a braided dark border, the note commemorates the 700th anniversary of the city of Bielefeld on 15 July 1921. The central vignette is divided into two allegorical scenes: on the left, a stylised cityscape with gothic spires and figures, and on the right, a dramatic expressionist tableau of human figures confronted by a monstrous creature labelled 'WUCHER' (profiteering), rendered in a bold woodcut style. The denomination '100 MARK' is printed in large block letters at centre, flanked on both sides by the anniversary inscription, with two facsimile signatures of Stadtrat officials below. |
