Obverse description A large intaglio vignette of the Imperial eagle with outstretched wings, crown, and shield breastplate in deep blue dominates the center, over which the text and denomination "Ein Hundert Mark" are printed in black and blue Fraktur script. A faint grey guilloche underprint of the numeral "100" appears at top center, while the serial number is printed vertically in red ink on both lateral margins. The Reichsbank seal with the Imperial eagle is positioned in the upper right, also in red ink.
