| Obverse lettering | LIETUVA LMK 100 LITŲ 2007 |
| Reverse description | The reverse presents a striking typographic composition in which a fragment of the Latin text of the Quedlinburg Annals (Annales Quedlinburgenses), the 11th-century chronicle containing the earliest recorded mention of the name Lithuania (Lituae), spirals outward from the centre to fill the entire coin field. The encircling legend ANNALES QUEDLINBURGENSES runs along the outer periphery, and the year 1009—marking the historic first mention of Lithuania's name—is prominently inscribed within the design. |
