Obverse description Draped bust of Michael the Brave (Mihai Viteazul), Prince of Wallachia, facing three-quarters to the right, wearing a fur-trimmed hat adorned with a feather plume and a ruffled collar. The portrait is rendered in a detailed, engraved style with the engraver's initials V.G. incuse in the lower left field. The legend MIHAI VITEAZUL arcs along the left periphery and ROMANIA along the right periphery.
