Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King Carol II facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed portraiture in a neoclassical style. The legend CAROL II REGELE ROMÂNILOR arcs along the upper periphery, reading from left to right around the bust. The engraver's signature E.W.BECKER appears incuse in small capitals below the truncation of the neck. The field is smooth and mirror-like, consistent with a proof or presentation striking.
