Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King Carol II facing right, modeled in high relief with finely detailed hair. The encircling legend reads CAROLII REGELE ROMANILOR, with the engraver's signature A. LAVRILLIER incised in small characters below the truncation. The date 1932 appears in the lower field, flanked by small decorative privy marks. The design is contained within a toothed inner border set against a broad flat rim.

Reverse description The Romanian royal arms, depicting a displayed eagle with wings spread, bearing on its breast a quartered shield with the heraldic emblems of the historic Romanian provinces, and holding a sword and sceptre in its talons, surmounted by a royal crown. The eagle is flanked on either side by a wreath of olive branches tied at the base and sides with ribbon knots. The denomination 100 LEI is inscribed in two lines in the lower central field within the wreath. The whole composition is enclosed within a toothed inner border.
